Overview
Working with The Corner, I produced a series of social videos as part of their rebrand campaign.
The project kicked off with the creative team walking me through the core idea. They shared just two frames from the brand guidelines as a reference for the visual direction, then essentially said “now do your thing” which is honestly one of my favourite ways to receive a brief.
I started by designing additional frames to expand the visual language, then moved into animating everything in a kinetic typography style. The focus here was sleight of hand, using subtle motion, pacing, and rhythm to guide the viewer’s eye. Initially, the plan was to use stock footage, so the first video leaned into fast cuts, sharp timing, and a beat-driven track, all tightly synced to the typography.
As the project developed, I saw an opportunity to introduce 3D elements. I brought in simple, minimal shapes and forms that complemented the typography without overpowering it. This small injection of 3D elevated the work, added depth, and helped maintain attention as the ads played out in busy social feeds.
The results performed really well across social and paid campaigns. It stood out as something genuinely different from what they had seen before, and unusually, the final delivery went through with no amendments at all. The team were super happy with how it landed.
